Izvestia newspaper topped the print media rating in May

According to the results of the last month of spring, Izvestia newspaper once again topped the TOP 10 most cited federal publications. This is evidenced by the data of the Medialogia company.

The citation index (CI) of the publication in May was 2,284.8, which is almost 1.5 times higher than its closest competitors. The newspaper Kommersant is in second place (CI: 1,502.0), and Rossiyskaya Gazeta is in third place (CI: 827.5).

“The leader of the rating in May among newspapers is Izvestia. Izvestia reported that in Russia they want to introduce a limit on the number of bank cards per person. Izvestia also reported that the transfer of the H5N1 avian influenza virus from cats to humans is becoming more likely,” the report says.

In addition, the newspaper Izvestia took the first place among the media in terms of citations in social media. The publication's engagement rate was 806,132. The newspaper Kommersant came in second place (627,155), Argumenty I Fakty came in third (559,754).

“Izvestia has become the leader of the social media citation rating. The TOP materials of the publication included: "IT from the game: the developers of the World of Tanks may lose business as early as May" and "The Voice of the People: what to expect from SHAMAN at Intervision 25," the message says.

Izvestia has consistently maintained its status as one of the most influential and sought-after media outlets in Russia, remaining at the center of the information agenda.

When calculating the rating, Russian federal media were taken into account, as well as online resources that cover federal and regional events.
