Toyota returned to the top ten leaders of the Russian market

Toyota, which is not officially represented on the Russian market, has returned to the top ten in terms of car sales in the country. This was reported on June 30 by the analytical agency Autostat.

Thus, according to the results of the 26th week of this year (June 23-29), 524 new Toyota passenger cars were sold in Russia. This result allowed the Japanese brand to take the tenth place in the rating. The last time she was in the top 10 for two weeks in a row (from 22nd to 23rd) after a long absence.

In total, 25.9 thousand new passenger cars were sold last week. This is 10% more than a week earlier, but 19% less than in the same period of 2024.

Lada became the market leader (6587 units), followed by four Chinese brands — Chery (2862 units), Haval (2546 units), Changan (1748 units) and Geely (1719 units). The Belarusian Belgee sold more than 1 thousand cars and became the sixth. Behind him are Jetour (800 units), Solaris (697 units), GAC (588 units), ahead of Toyota.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that the Toyota RAV4 crossover, also known as the Wildlander in a number of markets, became the best-selling car in the world by the end of 2024. Last year, almost 1.19 million Toyota RAV4 crossovers were sold worldwide, which is 11% more than a year earlier. In second place was the global bestseller of 2023— the Tesla Model Y electric car.
