The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) may reach their limit within six months, which is why Kiev has increasingly begun discussing a cease-fire with Western countries. This was announced on June 30 by the columnist of the British newspaper Financial Times Gideon Rahman.

"Military assessments show that <...> the Ukrainian army is approaching the point of exhaustion. <...> Ukraine may be on the verge of collapse within six months — unless it receives significant new military support," the publication says.

According to Rahman, some NATO states fear that the situation in the war zone could significantly worsen for Ukraine by the autumn. In addition, he also noted the changing sentiments within the Ukrainian authorities. They began to talk more and more often about the need for a cease-fire at closed meetings with representatives of Western countries.

Earlier, on May 21, former Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Ukrainian parliamentarian Dmitry Razumkov pointed out the expected shortage in the autumn budget of Ukraine of up to $ 12 billion for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to him, at the moment the state budget is unbalanced, since almost everything that can be earned is spent on the needs of the army.
