A military expert spoke about the advantages of the Geran-3 UAV

The latest Russian strike drone, the Geran-3, is capable of autonomous combat missions without operator involvement. Anatoly Matviychuk, a military expert and retired colonel, told about this on Monday, June 30.
Matviychuk said that the homing head and control system have been changed in the latest drones. If Geran-2 was subject to electronic interference and could be suppressed by electronic means of combating UAVs, then Geran-3 has an autonomous circuit.
"As a matter of fact, this is programming based on relief points. That is, even when the control system is completely disconnected from the operator, Geran-3 performs its task according to the points programmed before launch. It is practically free from interference and performs its task autonomously, regardless of the operator," he explained in a conversation with Lenta.Ru .
Matviychuk added that new drones have recently begun to be used in attacks on Kiev, Kharkiv, as well as at all points that are critically important for the Russian army.
Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Russian army had destroyed a storage site for drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). in the Sumy region. The ministry clarified that the Russian Armed Forces with the help of unmanned aerial vehicles "Geran-2" also hit enemy temporary deployment points in the area of the settlement of Konotop in the Sumy region.
