The therapist talked about ways to recognize burnout and prevent it.

Every fourth employee faces burnout, especially representatives of the helping professions and specialists in high-tech industries. On July 1, Maria Ignatieva, a psychoanalytic psychotherapist and psychologist at the Yasno service, told Izvestia about how to recognize this condition and prevent it.
According to her, the first symptom of burnout is the loss of meaning in work when it turns into a routine without motivation. The second sign is a constant feeling of lack of time, even if there are not so many tasks. The third symptom is chronic fatigue, which persists even after rest. The fourth sign is a decrease in activity to a minimum level, when a person performs only the necessary minimum.
"Having discovered such signs, it is important not to ignore them. The first step may be a full-fledged vacation with a full focus on personal needs. Sometimes a qualitative change of environment and deep rest can restore internal resources," Ignatieva said.
If rest does not help, it is worth talking to the management about the problems caused by the increased workload. The specialist noted that in some cases, changing jobs or professional fields may be the only solution. Psychotherapy can also help you deal with inner feelings and stress.
Ignatieva added that professional burnout is a signal of the need for change, which is important to hear and accept on time.
On June 9, Elena Loseva, a practicing psychologist, shared information about the causes of emotional burnout and ways to overcome it. She noted that for some people, getting enough sleep, setting up a routine, or going on vacation is enough, while others may need the help of specialists to solve this problem.
