- The Ministry of Health of Kazakhstan has confirmed cases of anthrax infection in the north of the country

In the Akmola region of the Republic of Kazakhstan, several people were hospitalized with anthrax infection. This was announced to journalists on June 30 by the country's Minister of Health, Akmaral Alnazarova.
According to her, the patients' condition is assessed as moderate. The minister noted that there are no plans to introduce quarantine in the region — appropriate conditions are needed for this.
"The issue is under our control. <...> Treatment is being carried out, the appropriate authorities have been involved to investigate these facts," Alnazarova stressed, as quoted by Tengri News.
In September last year, four residents of the Almaty region in Kazakhstan were suspected of being infected with anthrax. It was noted that the patients had been in contact with infected farm animals. They participated in the slaughter of livestock without veterinary examination.
