Moscow regrets Baku's decisions to cancel Russian-sponsored events in connection with the detention of Azerbaijani immigrants in Yekaterinburg. This was announced on June 30 by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation.

"We sincerely regret such decisions," he said at a briefing.

According to Peskov, what is happening is related to the work of law enforcement agencies, so it should not be a reason for such a reaction.

On June 29, all cultural events organized by the Russian Federation were canceled in Azerbaijan. It was clarified that the reason for the decision was the detention by the Yekaterinburg police of gang members in the Sverdlovsk region, which includes Azerbaijanis.
