The Azerbaijani Interior Ministry announced an operation at the office of the local Sputnik

Azerbaijani law enforcement agencies are conducting an operation at the office of the Sputnik Azerbaijan news agency. This was reported on June 30 by the Qafqazinfo portal with reference to the republic's Interior Ministry, noting that the building is already under police control.

"This information was confirmed to our website by the press service of the Interior Ministry. They said that additional information about the course of the operation would be provided," the publication wrote.

Journalist Margarita Simonyan reported on her Telegram channel that employees of the Russian embassy have already been sent to the agency's office.

"According to my information, the staff of our embassy in Baku has already left for the office of our Sputnik, where a "special operation" is currently taking place. Employees do not get in touch — obviously, they are deprived of access to the phone. There are Russian citizens among them," she wrote.
