Environmentally friendly cardboard production to be launched in Kashira, Moscow region

In the Moscow region, in the Kashira special ecological zone, a large enterprise for the production of cardboard and paper for corrugation is under construction. The project is being implemented by Arkhbum Liner company (part of ATSBK Holding). At SPIEF 2025, the company's representative and Governor Andrey Vorobyov signed a corresponding agreement.

According to Evgeny Tertyshnikov, acting head of the Kashira city district, quoted by the Podmoskovye Segodnya online publication, the project will be the next step in developing the industrial capabilities of the district. In particular, it strengthens Kashira's position as a Center of modern, environmentally responsible industries.

The cost of the project is estimated at 22.9 billion rubles. It is planned to create 249 jobs. The annual output will be 325 thousand tons. Waste paper will be used mainly in production and modern resource-saving technologies will be used to minimize the impact on the environment.

In turn, Pavel Smirnov, Executive director of Arkhbum Liner, said that Kashira was not chosen for this project by chance. Logistics allows us to supply enterprises in the Moscow region, Ulyanovsk, Penza and Voronezh. The proximity of the river is also important for production with high water consumption.

Production is scheduled to start in 2028. The Kashira authorities are counting on the economic growth of the district, an increase in its investment attractiveness, and the emergence of new employment opportunities.

Earlier it was reported that the Moscow region entered the top 10 regions of Russia in terms of environmental fees. According to Russian legislation, manufacturers and importers of certain types of goods and packaging must dispose of waste and pay an eco-collection fee. This work is of great importance, as packaging and packaging account for a significant portion of the waste in illegal landfills.
