Chanterelle mushrooms allowed to be harvested in the Murmansk region

Scientists of the Polar Alpine Garden Institute of Kirovsk explained whether it is possible to collect chanterelle mushrooms in the forests of the Murmansk region. According to them, there is no penalty for picking these mushrooms, which grow everywhere in the region.
According to experts, each region has its own list of rare and endangered organisms. They are listed in the Red Book. The list is updated every 10 years.
So, in the first Red Book of the Murmansk region, which was published in 2003, as well as in the second, from 2014, there is a chanterelle. But in the third issue of the Red Book of the region, which will be released later this year, the chanterelle is no longer listed as a protected species.
This is due to the fact that over the past decade, scientists have gained enough information that chanterelles grow in almost all areas of the region, writes Bi-port news agency.
Earlier it was reported that in the Perm Region you will have to pay a fine for picking some edible mushrooms. The species that are listed in the Red Book of the region and the country are banned. If these mushrooms are collected, citizens can be fined from 2 thousand to 5 thousand rubles, and the mushrooms themselves can be confiscated. If they are collected in specially protected natural areas, the fine will amount to 4 thousand rubles. The fine for legal entities is up to 300 thousand rubles.
