The issue of Armenia's membership in the CSTO is a sovereign decision of the country, and the Kremlin assumes that the Transcaucasian republic is a full member of the organization. This was announced by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov at a briefing on June 30.
He noted that the organization has repeatedly shown its effectiveness and this suggests that it is in the interests of states.
"In this case, it is an absolutely sovereign decision of Armenia. Membership in the CSTO brings certain benefits to Armenia," Peskov said.
