The Indian authorities are continuing to investigate the causes of the crash involving the Boeing 787 Dreamliner of Air India, which occurred on June 12 in the city of Ahmedabad. This was reported on June 30 by The Independent newspaper with reference to the Minister of Civil Aviation of India, Murlidhar Mohol.

"This (plane crash) was an accident. <...> The case is being studied from all sides, including possible sabotage," he said.

Mohol noted that investigators are studying the recordings from surveillance cameras and are working on all possible versions of what happened, and several agencies are involved in the investigation.

The Ministry of Civil Aviation clarified that the decoding of flight data recorders began on June 24. The extracted memory module from the front recorder has been successfully read, and the data contained in it is already under analysis. They also added that information from the voice recorder and flight data recorder is currently being processed.

Mohol noted that it is premature to draw final conclusions about the causes of the disaster, but stressed the uniqueness of the incident. According to him, there have never been cases where both engines failed at the same time. He added that after the investigation is completed, it will become clear whether this is due to a malfunction of the engines themselves, fuel supply disruptions or other factors that influenced their simultaneous shutdown.

It is clarified that almost 20 days have passed since the crash, and pressure is increasing on the Indian aviation authorities from the public and experts demanding disclosure of the causes of the tragedy. According to international standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the preliminary report must be made public within 30 days after the incident, and the final report within 12 months.

The plane crash in Ahmedabad, India, occurred on June 12. There were 242 passengers on board, including two pilots and 10 flight attendants. The Boeing 787-8 crashed into a dormitory building for doctors. According to NDTV, the cause of the crash could have been a collision with birds, one of the passengers survived the crash — he turned out to be a 40-year-old British citizen.

Later, on June 13, in Ahmedabad, India, investigators found one of the two black boxes at the crash site of the Boeing 787. The second black box in the front of the aircraft has not been found at the moment.
