The Russian Federation hopes that the protests in Serbia will be resolved peacefully, and Western countries will not engage in a color revolution in the country. On June 30, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told reporters at a press conference following a meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). in Kyrgyzstan.

"We are interested in calming these unrest, in general, as Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said, on the basis of the constitution and laws of this friendly state," Lavrov said.

In addition, the diplomat stressed that Russia hopes that Western countries will not try to organize a color revolution in Serbia. He noted that the Serbian leadership is ready for dialogue with the protesters.

"Dialogue is the way to resolve any issues," Lavrov concluded.

On June 28, Izvestia published footage from Belgrade after the start of demonstrations on the Vidovdan holiday, the day of remembrance of heroes and national identity of Serbia. At least 36 thousand people attended the rally. Students came to the square, shouting slogans "Swing!". It was clarified that 48 police officers were injured and 77 people were detained as a result of the protests.
