Slovak Foreign Minister Blanar called for the restoration of dialogue with the Russian Federation

Western countries need to restore direct dialogue with Russia for a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. This was announced on June 30 by Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar.

"Let's return to respecting international law and look for ways to communicate with the Russian Federation," the politician said, as quoted by Teraz.

According to the diplomat, a solution to the conflict can be found only through diplomacy. Blanard added that there is now an "erosion" of international law in the world.

Brussels is preparing a plan to abandon Russian energy supplies, but is forced to make concessions.

On June 29, Slovak President Peter Pellegrini announced the need for a dialogue between Europe and Russia. He noted that he fully shares the position of Prime Minister Robert Fico, who demands that the European Commission (EC) provide guarantees for Slovakia's energy security in the event of the adoption of the 18th package of sanctions against Russia.
