The diplomat stated that the EU does not understand the root causes of the Ukrainian conflict.

Representatives of the European Union (EU) do not understand the root causes of the conflict in Ukraine. This was announced on June 30 by Yulia Zhdanova, the new head of the Russian delegation to the negotiations on military security and arms control in Vienna.

"We have no doubt that our European opponents are aware of the root causes of the conflict," she said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to Zhdanova, it is precisely because of this that the EU continues to militarize Kiev, promotes the idea of Ukraine's integration into the European community, and ignores violations of the rights of Russians and national minorities in the country.

"In other words, as already noted, they are deliberately escalating the conflict," the diplomat concluded.
