- Reuters reported on Trump's participation in the opening of a migrant detention center in Florida.

On Tuesday, July 1, US President Donald Trump will attend the opening ceremony of a new detention center for illegal migrants in Florida. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on June 30, citing a source.
"President Trump is expected to attend the opening of a temporary migrant detention center in southern Florida called Alligator Alcatraz on Tuesday," the publication says.
It is clarified that this decision of the American leader was the next step in his program to tighten the procedures for the detention and deportation of illegal migrants.
The new detention center got its name due to its location in the remote Everglades wetland, populated by alligators, crocodiles and pythons. According to an unnamed official from Florida, such fauna will serve as a "natural barrier" when escaping from the territory.
Accompanying Trump during the visit will be US Secretary of Homeland Security Kristy Noem, who asked him to visit the center on the opening day.
On June 14, large-scale rallies against Trump's migration policy began in the American city of Philadelphia. On the same day, the Virginia state police detained a man who purposefully crashed into a crowd of protesters opposed to the actions of the American leader. At least one person was injured in the incident.
