An attempted terrorist attack near the military enlistment office building was prevented in the Amur region.

A resident of the Amur Region was taken into custody after an attempt to set fire to a military enlistment office in order to disrupt the dispatch of military personnel to the special military operation zone. This was announced on Monday, June 30, by the main directorate of the FSB in the region.

"As a result of the operational search measures carried out, a resident of the Amur region, an active participant in the pro-Ukrainian channel <...> on Telegram, was detained while attempting to set fire to the building of the military commissariat of the Amur region," the ministry said in a statement.

A criminal case has been opened against the defendant under Part 1 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Terrorist act"). He now faces up to 20 years in prison.

It is specified that investigative actions are continuing.

The tightening will also apply to foreigners and stateless persons.

Earlier, on April 30, a resident of Yaroslavl was sentenced to 20 years in prison in a high-security penal colony in a case of treason and sabotage after setting fire to a railway on the instructions of the Ukrainian special services.
