Probable firefighter shooter found dead in Idaho

In the US state of Idaho, the body of a man with a gun was found nearby in the area where firefighters were shot. This was announced by NBC on Monday, June 30.

Although the man's identity has not yet been established, his discovery prompted authorities to lift the self-isolation order for people living nearby.

"The authorities stated that the fire was apparently set intentionally as part of an ambush, and the police officers who arrived at the scene were subjected to active sniper fire," the TV channel reported, citing Kootenai County Sheriff Robert Norris.

The sheriff's office reported that the body was discovered by members of a SWAT team.

Earlier, on June 29, two firefighters were killed in Idaho, and several others were injured when they were shot at. Firefighters extinguished a forest fire in Coeur d'Alene. As a result of the shooting, the operation to eliminate the fire was suspended. The street is blocked.
