The West recognized the superiority of Russian aviation over Ukrainian

The aviation of the Russian army is more modern and technologically advanced compared to the Ukrainian one, even taking into account the supply of Western equipment to Kiev. This was announced on June 29 by the editorial board of Military Watch Magazine (MWM).

The authors of the material report on the obsolescence of the F-16 supplied to Ukraine, and therefore they do not pose a significant threat to the Russian Air Force.

"All F-16s supplied to the Ukrainian Air Force were variants of the early Cold War era, whose avionics are considered outdated, which is the main factor putting them at an extreme disadvantage compared to modern Russian front—line fighters," the publication says.

It is also noted that Russia has a powerful air defense system that works in tandem with the Air Force, which makes it possible to more successfully control the airspace.

"Although the F-16 was widely hailed in the Western world as an aircraft that could turn the tide of the conflict in favor of Ukraine, the aircraft turned out to suffer from serious limitations in the theater of operations," the article says.
