A criminal case has been opened in Primorye after people were gassed in a hypermarket.

A criminal case has been opened in Vladivostok over the poisoning of people in a hypermarket with an unknown gas. This was announced on June 30 by the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation for the Primorsky Territory.

"Investigators of the Investigative Committee of the Primorsky Territory are establishing the circumstances of poisoning people in a supermarket on Borisenko Street in the city of Vladivostok," the agency notes in its Telegram channel.

According to the investigation, on the eve of June 29, eight employees at the Remy hypermarket felt unwell due to the smell of an unknown gas. The injured were hospitalized.

As reported by the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region, investigators are establishing all the circumstances of the incident. A criminal case was opened on this fact on the grounds of a crime under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Production, storage, transportation or sale of goods and products, performance of works or provision of services that do not meet safety requirements").

Earlier, on June 29, it was reported that visitors to the Remy hypermarket were evacuated after the smell of gas in the room.
