Fighters of the group "Center" told about the liberation of the Donetsk People's Republic

Military personnel of the Center group of forces told about the liberation of the settlement of Novonikolayevka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). This was announced on June 30 by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

"The operation began with a thorough reconnaissance of the defense perimeter. The assault groups, acting from different directions, identified weaknesses in the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Armed Forces of Ukraine. — Ed.), choosing the least protected areas for the offensive," the ministry said.

The military personnel carried out the accumulation of forces in the area of the sweep gradually. At first, the personnel occupied the surviving houses on the outskirts of the settlement, from where further attacks developed.

If necessary, the fighters used anti-drone blankets and ponchos to cross open terrain, and also moved mainly at night.

"Novonikolaevka was distinguished by the fact that there are no shelters for attack aircraft and infantry, and, consequently, for vehicles, on the approaches to it. These are fields, large fields and thin forest belts," said Deputy battalion commander Stanislav Zaitsev.

On the outskirts of the settlement, the fighters destroyed the calculations of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Drones were also actively used by Russian military personnel during the assault operations.

"The liberation of Novonikolayevka became possible thanks to the well—coordinated interaction of units, the competent use of camouflage equipment and the effective use of tactical advantages on the battlefield," the Defense Ministry concluded.

The stormtroopers were supported by tanks with non-standard drone protection.

The liberation of Novonikolayevka was reported on June 19. In this area, the Ukrainian militants lost up to 460 people, seven armored vehicles, two vehicles and three artillery weapons, including a 155-millimeter Krab self-propelled artillery system.
