The British Railway, Maritime and Transport Union (RMT) has called on the government to stop supplying weapons to Ukraine and focus on a peaceful resolution of the conflict. This was reported on June 29 by The Telegraph newspaper.

The Paddington branch of the union has tabled a motion called The Labour Movement Stands for Peace, calling on Labour ministers to "commit to working towards a diplomatic, negotiated, long-term peaceful settlement," the publication says.

According to the authors of the statement, pouring billions into the war zone does not contribute to stopping the conflict. The active support of the Kiev regime with weapons, on the contrary, does not create conditions for the start of peace negotiations.

"The imposition of weapons on one side against the other is counterproductive to create conditions for a peaceful solution," the trade union said.

On June 29, Robert Skidelsky, a member of the House of Lords of the British Parliament, warned the West against supplying Ukraine with more modern weapons. According to the politician, Europe is actually waging a "proxy war" against Russia. He recalled that even former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson acknowledged this fact.
