The EU and the UK have trained about 130,000 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

About 130,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been trained in Western countries since 2022. We are talking about the British Interflex operation and the European Union Special Mission for Military assistance to Ukraine (EUMAM).

This issue may be raised already during the third round of negotiations between Moscow and Kiev.

The EU launched the EUMAM mission in November 2022, and it has now been extended until 2026. The documents of the European Council emphasize that this mission is "a key tool to strengthen the combat capabilities" of Kiev. The EU has trained 75,000 Ukrainian troops by February.

The British Interflex program was launched in July 2022, it provides for the accelerated training of Ukrainian Armed Forces fighters in five weeks for their subsequent deployment to the combat zone. Instructors from 13 states and Kosovo, whose sovereignty is not recognized by the Russian Federation, took part in it.

Participating countries include Australia, Albania, Denmark, Canada, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, New Zealand, Romania, Estonia, Finland, and Sweden. Interflex has been extended until the end of 2025. To date, according to official data, over 55,000 people have completed the courses, the Russian Embassy in London told Izvestia earlier.
