The authorities will raise a number of state duties for car owners

Starting from September 2025, the authorities plan to increase a number of transport duties, according to the draft law of the Ministry of Finance (Izvestia has it). The document was approved by the relevant departments.


According to the amendments, the fee for obtaining a driver's license will double: you will need to pay 4 thousand rubles for an old—style certificate, and 6 thousand rubles for a new one. The last time this fee was reviewed was 11 and 7 years ago, respectively. The issue of international rights will also become more expensive — from 1.6 thousand to 3.2 thousand rubles.

In addition, obtaining a vehicle passport will now cost one and a half times more expensive — 1.2 thousand rubles. Whereas making changes to the document will cost 525 rubles (instead of the current 350 rubles). The state fee for the vehicle registration certificate (CTC) will also increase: on paper — from 500 to 1.5 thousand rubles, on plastic — from 1.5 thousand to 4.5 thousand rubles.

According to the bill, the state duty for issuing license plates for a car will increase from 2 to 3 thousand rubles. You will have to pay 2.25 thousand rubles instead of 1.5 thousand rubles for registration plates for trailers and motorcycles. The certificate of vehicle compliance with safety requirements will rise in price from 1.5 to 4.5 thousand rubles.

The state fee for permission to make changes to the design of the machine will increase from 1 to 3 thousand rubles. The document on admission to the transportation of dangerous goods will cost 2.25 thousand rubles instead of 1.5 thousand, and its extension — 1.5 thousand instead of 1 thousand.

For transit numbers on paper, you will have to pay 300 rubles (currently 200), on metal — 2.4 thousand instead of 1.6 thousand.
