Ornithologists told about the rules when finding a baby bird.

A period of activity of flocks has begun in Moscow — young birds that have already left their nests, but still fly poorly. This was reported by ornithologists of the Moscow Department of Nature Management and Environmental Protection on June 28.
On the streets, it is increasingly possible to meet chicks of grouse thrushes, greenbirds, sparrows, goldfinches, crows and other urban birds. Despite the fact that they look helpless, this is a natural stage of their growing up — they learn to live independently.
Experts reminded us: you do not need to take the bird home. It would be much more correct to observe her from a distance, without interfering unnecessarily. Ornithologists emphasize that only those chicks who have been injured need help. If the baby is healthy, it should not be touched — its parents continue to take care of it, they feed it and protect it. In addition, such birds have a special diet, and only adults can provide them with everything they need, writes RIAMO.
In early June, it was reported that seven curly-haired pelicans, about a year old, had been brought to the Moscow Zoo's Rare Species Reproduction Center. The birds are currently being quarantined, and specialists are helping them adapt to the new conditions.
