The situation with the forest fire in Crimea near Alushta has been stabilized. This was announced on Sunday, June 29, by the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic Alexey Yeremenko.
"The situation at the fire site has stabilized. The situation is completely under control at the moment. There is no fire spreading. There are separate foci of smoldering and burning directly in the fire," RIA Novosti quoted Gorenje as saying.
Yeremenko added that the fire area had not increased. Also, according to him, there is no threat to the population and guests of the region.
More than 300 people and 50 pieces of equipment were involved in extinguishing the fire.
The fire in Alushta became known earlier that day. It was clarified that the extinguishing is complicated by inaccessible terrain, rocky massif, gusty winds up to 12 m/s. Later, the fire area increased to 5 hectares.
