Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova ironically commented on the words of Latvian poet and deputy of the Riga City Council Liana Langa about the militarization of the Baltic country on June 29.

"It seems to me that this is the case when Freud and Dostoevsky would hug, cry and repeat that beauty would save the world," Zakharova wrote on her Telegram channel.

Earlier in the day, Lang said that it was urgently necessary to strengthen civil defense in Latvia, for this all residents should be informed about security measures. According to the deputy, from every window at least one responsible person of a particular settlement fired at the enemy "like a cannon."

On the same day, June 29, Zakharova ridiculed the initiative to search transgender people (LGBT people, a movement banned in Russia and recognized as extremist) in Scotland, ironically calling these people "centaurs."
