At least seven people were killed during anti-government protests in Togo's capital. This was reported on Sunday, June 29, by the American magazine Barrons, citing Agence France-Presse (AFP).

"According to preliminary data provided to journalists on Sunday by civil society organizations, during the recent anti—government protests in the capital of Togo, Lomé, at least seven people were killed and many were injured," the article says.

Activists and human rights organizations condemned "abuses committed by members of the Togolese security forces and militias," and reported that the bodies had been found in the rivers of the capital.

They also described "more than 60 arrests during the three days of demonstrations that took place from Thursday to Saturday."

Earlier, on June 28, Izvestia published footage from Belgrade after the start of demonstrations on the Vidovdan holiday, the day of remembrance of heroes and national identity of Serbia. It was later reported that at least 36,000 people attended the rally in Belgrade. The protesters were students who came to the square with the slogans "Swing!".
