The enrichment of uranium in the Islamic Republic will never stop. This was announced on Sunday, June 29, by Iran's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Amir Saeed Iravani.

"I believe that [uranium] enrichment will never stop," he said in an interview with CBS (Face the Nation program).

Iravani also noted that according to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Iran has the right to "produce and use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes." As the diplomat pointed out, the production of enriched uranium is an "inalienable right" of the republic, which it plans to use.

Earlier in the day, US President Donald Trump said that Iran may have a secret nuclear facility. The American leader also stressed that he did not consider the information about the export of enriched uranium by the republic to be true before the United States strikes.
