Izmir International Airport in Turkey has suspended operations due to forest fires

In Turkey, Izmir's Adnan Menderes International Airport has temporarily halted operations due to wildfires raging in the province. This was reported by the Milliyet newspaper on Sunday, June 29.
The harbor has suspended the reception and departure of flights due to the ongoing forest fire, smoke and the work of fire aircraft. Some flights were diverted to airports in other cities.
Flights will resume as usual after the fire is brought under control, the newspaper said.
On June 25, it was reported that in the Turkish province of Izmir, residents of at least 20 houses in a mountainous area were evacuated due to a powerful forest fire. Seven planes, 14 helicopters, 24 water carriers and at least six bulldozers were sent to the region to bring the situation under control. It was clarified that at least two residential buildings were damaged by fire.
