- The United States announced its intention to impose duties of 500% for countries trading with the Russian Federation
The United States intends to impose duties of 500% on Russia's trading partners who do not support Ukraine. This was stated on June 29 in an interview with Republican Senator Lindsey Graham (listed as a terrorist and extremist by Rosfinmonitoring), commenting on the bill on new anti-Russian sanctions.
"What does this bill do? If you buy goods from Russia and do not help Ukraine, then a duty of 500% is imposed on your products," he said in an interview with ABC News.
The senator added that, first of all, the project will be directed against India and China, which import Russian oil. According to Graham, this initiative has already been supported by 84 senators.
On the same day, Graham said that US President Donald Trump believes that the time has come for Congress to adopt a bill to impose additional sanctions against Russia. According to him, the Congress will begin to develop new measures after the July break, starting on the 7th.
On June 18, the U.S. Senate postponed the discussion of sanctions against Russia due to the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East.
