France needs to stop participating in other people's wars and "writing checks" to Ukraine, ruining its own coffers. This was announced on June 29 by the leader of the French Patriots party, Florian Philippot.

He noted that this kind of assistance has become very difficult and problematic for the country. Philippot called for fighting against France's involvement in other people's conflicts.

"It is necessary that we stop ruining ourselves at a time when we need money so badly — and the French have felt it for themselves — to stop sending more and more checks to Ukraine," TASS quoted him as saying on the sidelines of the demonstration for peace in Paris.

The politician added that in this way the French authorities are trying to hide their internal problems, directing forces to support external conflicts.

"This money is just being thrown out the window. We know that Ukraine is an extremely corrupt country. They're being taken from hospitals, they're being taken from farmers. It is absurd to involve them in the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East or Ukraine," Philippot concluded.

On the same day, Philippot called 17 packages of sanctions against Russia ineffective and criticized French President Emmanuel Macron's statement on new measures against Moscow. He added that the French economy is currently "worse than ever."
