US President Donald Trump believes that the time has come for Congress to adopt a bill to impose additional sanctions against Russia. This was announced on June 29 by Republican Senator Lindsey Graham (listed as a terrorist and extremist by Rosfinmonitoring).

"Yesterday, for the first time, the president told me when we were playing golf that it was time to move forward," he said in an interview with ABC News.

The senator expressed confidence that if the American lawmakers adopt the document, the head of state will definitely sign it. According to him, the Congress will begin to develop new measures after the July break, starting on the 7th.

Trump said on June 16 that he did not want to tighten sanctions against Russia, as he hoped to reach agreements on Ukraine and resolve the conflict. The American leader added that he would be happy if peace could be achieved in Ukraine. On June 18, the U.S. Senate postponed the discussion of sanctions against Russia due to the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East.

On June 29, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations Peter Szijjarto announced that the United States had lifted a number of sanctions against Russia that prevented the construction of the Paks-2 nuclear power plant in Hungary under the Rosatom project.
