An Israeli strike on Tehran's Evin prison in Tehran killed 71 people. This was announced on June 29 by the official representative of the Iranian judiciary, Asghar Jahangi.

"71 people were killed during the attack on Evin prison, including prison administrative staff, conscripts, prisoners, and prisoners' families...> and residents of neighboring houses," IRIB quoted him as saying.

It is specified that several facilities on the prison territory were hit — the health department, the engineering and technical building, the assembly building and the prison prosecutor's office. According to the official representative of the judicial authority, the victims were hospitalized and provided with medical assistance.

Earlier, on June 28, Israel's permanent representative to the UN, Danny Danon, said that the Israeli army would attack Iran again if the Islamic Republic demonstrated attempts to resume its nuclear program. He also noted that in order to monitor Iran's compliance with the agreements, it would be necessary to impose sanctions and invite inspectors, since even the IAEA admitted that it did not have a full understanding of the situation in Iran.
