The Interior Ministry told about popular fraud schemes through payment platforms

There are four main schemes of fraudsters through fake payment platforms. On June 29, the Department for the Organization of the fight against the illegal use of information and communication Technologies (UBK) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia informed about this.
One of the most common schemes remains the creation by fraudsters of copies of popular online stores. Such sites look almost identical to the real ones, and the bank card data entered on the fake payment page immediately gets to the attackers.
"Fake pages of the Fast Payment System (SBP). Fake forms are created to deceive, imitating the SBP interface. Fraudsters can send QR codes or links to regional payment systems (to appear legitimate and complicate tracking)," the agency added in its Telegram channel.
In addition, the Interior Ministry warns about scammers who are actively working in the real estate rental market. The attackers publish ads on legal sites, but forward customers to messengers and offer to make a payment or deposit through fake sites. The department stressed that now many rental transactions are concluded remotely and without prior inspection of housing, which increases the risk of becoming a victim of fraud.
Schemes involving the purchase of goods or services on questionable websites and through fake Telegram bots are also popular. One-day sellers offer goods and tickets at "favorable" prices, but the order does not arrive after payment. Victims are often asked to make an "additional prepayment", after which the connection with the scammers is cut off.
The day before, the Interior Ministry reported that cybercriminals began to deceive Russian minors more often. According to the agency, the number of victims of cyberbullying minors in the first five months of 2025 increased by 25% compared to the same period last year. It was clarified that scammers can use the image of a fake psychologist, who requires testing after registering on a phishing resource.
