The main alumni celebration "Scarlet Sails" was held in St. Petersburg on the night of June 29. More than one hundred thousand schoolchildren from all over the country and abroad came to see the unique spectacle. Roman Ishmukhametov, a correspondent of Izvestia, told about the celebration.

The holiday traditionally began with a concert on Dvortsovaya Street. The highlight of the event was the appearance of the brig Rossiya.

"To be honest, I'll tell you a secret. I moved to St. Petersburg just to attend the Scarlet Sails party in the eleventh grade," said graduate Stefania Galinka.

With a blow to the ship's market, the countdown of their adult life begins.

"Win together with Russia! Russia is a land of victories," said Alexander Beglov, Governor of St. Petersburg.

Graduates from Mariupol attended the celebration. For the fourth year now, young people from the twin city of St. Petersburg have been special guests on Dvortsovaya Street. Guests from the CIS countries, Africa, distant Cuba and Venezuela also came to Scarlet Sails.

Every year, the creators of the Scarlet Sails surpass themselves again and again. This year, the scene is made in the form of a huge open window. For the first time in the history of the holiday, it even has swimming pools, and the screen area is a thousand square meters.

5UTRA, Akmal', Vadim Samoilov, Ivanushki International, The Hatters, Nadezhda Kadysheva, Bearwolf, Zara, as well as Vadim Samoilov, founder and leader of the Agatha Christie group, performed at the festival.

"Of course, I want to wish them all a safe journey in life. Because this is the most important thing," Samoilov said.

Nikita Belyakov, the lead singer of the band 5UTRA, wished the graduates to dream and find their favorite business.

"I want everyone to have everything in their lives the way they want it to be," said singer Zara.

The main theme of the holiday is the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. Excerpts from Shostakovich's seventh, blockade symphony were played on the Palace Square. The theme of Victory was continued in the water and pyrotechnic show.

In memory of those who stood up and gave us peace, Katyusha rocket launchers (BM-13) were fired from the Troitsky Bridge. One of them is a unique museum exhibit from the time of the Great Patriotic War. It has been preserved and is being protected by the Lenreserv Patriotic Association.

At this time, the brig Rossiya is displayed on the Neva River. It travels at an average speed of about 7 knots or 13 km/h, so that everyone can see the cherished sailboat. And then the magic sails end up on the shores of the Sea of Azov. The holiday was held there a week earlier. Graduates from all over the Donetsk People's Republic have touched their dream.

"We've been waiting for this for a whole year, and finally we saw these sails and made a wish. This is an excellent evening," said Marina Svintsova, a graduate from Mariupol.

The Scarlet Sails holiday was revived in 2005 after a long-term hiatus on the initiative of ROSSIYA Joint Stock Bank, the Government of St. Petersburg and Channel Five.

Earlier in the day, Jesus Rafael Salazar Velazquez, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela to the Russian Federation, said that Venezuelan graduates were glad to have the opportunity to attend the Scarlet Sails holiday in St. Petersburg.
