Lavrov admired Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who is on an official visit to Kyrgyzstan, noted the beauty of Lake Issyk-Kul, near which part of the business negotiations took place. The Russian Foreign Minister said on June 29 that he would like to spend more time in this beautiful place, but his work schedule does not allow this.
"I believe that we have set a good rhythm in contacts between us and our staff of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs. <...> We have a busy agenda today. We will work in this beautiful place on Lake Issyk-Kul," he said at talks with his Kyrgyz counterpart Jeenbek Kulubayev, his words are quoted on the agency's website.
Lavrov noted the friendly relations between the two countries, which are allies. And he thanked Kulubayev for the warm welcome.
The Russian Foreign Minister arrived in Kyrgyzstan the day before. At the airport, the head of Russian diplomacy was met by the Kyrgyz delegation and the Russian Ambassador to Bishkek. As part of the trip, Lavrov is holding a meeting with the head of the republic Sadyr Japarov and talks with the Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan. Lavrov is also taking part in a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the member states of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).
