Kyrgyzstan and Russia have developed a special level of partnership and relations. This was announced on June 29 by Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubayev after a meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov.

"Russia is one of the few states with which the Kyrgyz Republic has developed a special level of partnership and allied relations," TASS quoted him as saying.

In addition, the diplomat noted that the countries strive to increase mutual trade turnover to $5 billion, and economic cooperation occupies a special place in bilateral relations.

On May 27, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov and his Kyrgyz counterpart Ruslan Mukambetov signed a program of strategic partnership in the military field for 2026-2030. Belousov stressed that the countries are currently living in a situation of global instability. He noted a decrease in the level of security, including in the Central Asian region.
