The motor rally "The Way of Susanin" is taking place in the Kostroma region on June 29. The participants challenged themselves to an incredibly difficult and exciting challenge at the same time — to drive more than 100 km off-road. Extreme athletes from all over the country gathered to test themselves. Footage of the competition is published by Izvestia.

Before the start of the motorcycle rally, riders turn on GPS trackers, as it is not difficult to get lost on such a route. The forests of the Kostroma region have turned into one big racing track.

Already at the beginning of the road, the motorcycle racers literally stood up — the track is of maximum difficulty. The rally is called "The Way of Susanin", so it's not just about winning, but just getting to the finish line is already a difficult task.

"This is the Way of Susanin. Some special stages just seem impassable. Here, for example, a huge traffic jam of motorcycles has formed. The participants cannot get out of this ford and get stuck in the mud," said Sergey Khaidarov, a correspondent for Izvestia.

For several participants, the race ended as soon as it started. Motorcycles literally drown in the water. In such cases, evacuation vehicles are on duty along the entire route.

"I'm going to drive a motorcycle now. First he met me, now I'm his," says Rustam Efentyev, a participant in the motorcycle rally.

Two classes of motorcycles participate in the rally – the Dakar and the more powerful enduro. But there are also retro models. For example, the Ural with a wheelchair.

"He was born in 1991, my age. And I'm a navigator, a monkey on a stick. We made the "Susanin's Way", well, we have to come on a Russian motorcycle," said participant Sergey Bakurov.

In total, the riders had to travel more than 100 km. Given all the surprises of the track and its complexity, it seems impossible.

"We laid out the route ourselves, we checked everything for ourselves. Not everyone will get to the finish line, the track turned out to be quite difficult," said Konstantin Babenkov, the organizer of the rally, the president of the WINDS MC motorcycle club.

This rally is being held for the first time in the places of Ivan Susanin's feat. But already the debut start gathered more than 80 motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the country.

"The first pancake is no longer lumpy. In terms of the number of participants, this is the first such sporting event that has attracted a large number of people," said Sergey Sitnikov, Governor of the Kostroma Region.

Kostroma region has become another powerful center of attraction for motorcycle enthusiasts. Such a rally is a test of strength for extreme athletes. Those who are not looking for easy ways.

On June 9, a festival was held in Moscow in honor of the 15th anniversary of the Silk Road Rally Marathon. Rally enthusiasts could study the technique, as well as try themselves as a pilot, sitting in the cockpit.
