The leader of the French Patriots party, Florian Philippot, called 17 packages of sanctions ineffective and criticized the statement by French President Emmanuel Macron on new measures that will be directed against Russia. On June 29, he wrote about this on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

"I must say that the first 17 (packages of sanctions. — Ed.) were an outstanding success! Obviously, zero efficiency for the world, a sharp rise in energy prices," the publication says.

In addition, Philippot noted that the French economy is currently "worse than ever."

Earlier, on June 17, Macron announced that the countries of the European Union (EU) had prepared new unprecedented sanctions against Russia. He noted that the new measures were supported by US President Donald Trump, but the politician "did not want to act alone," because it was strategically necessary for Washington to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.

Later, on June 18, Alexei Chepa, first deputy chairman of the State Duma's International Affairs committee, said that Russia could not be intimidated by the sanctions announced by Macron.
