Shor announced the takeover of Moldova by the EU under the guise of trade facilitation

Under the guise of simplifying trade procedures with the European Union (EU), Moldova is gradually being absorbed and the country is being deprived of economic independence. This was stated by Ilan Shor, leader of the Moldovan opposition bloc Pobeda, in an interview with RIA Novosti on June 29.

"Under the guise of "simplification" of trade procedures with the EU, we see another round of absorption of Moldova by the European Union. The regime of [the President of Moldova] Maia Sandu is steadily depriving the country of its economic sovereignty," Shor said.

According to him, as a result of the policy of the current authorities of the republic, the Moldovan economy is being destroyed, and the import of goods is rapidly increasing. Shor noted that Moldova is a supplier of cheap labor for the EU, while Moldovan goods are not needed on European markets.

"The country is dependent on loans that are taken blindly on unfavorable terms. Entire industries have been destroyed, such as agriculture, light industry, and mechanical engineering," he added.

The politician stressed that official Chisinau is blocking beneficial cooperation with the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
