The Ukrainian Air Force has lost another Western F-16 fighter jet. The relevant information was published in the Telegram channel of the department.

"This night <...> a pilot of the first class, Lieutenant Colonel Maxim Ustimenko, born in 1993, was killed on an F-16 aircraft," the publication says.

It is clarified that the plane was damaged, so it began to lose altitude, as a result of which the pilot was unable to eject.

Earlier, on May 16, Aviation Major General, Honored Pilot of the Russian Federation Vladimir Popov named the reasons for the growing losses in Ukraine of F-16 fighters supplied by the West. He said that this was due to difficulties in the aircraft's control system, which Ukrainian pilots could not cope with. According to him, it takes one and a half to two years to learn how to pilot this fighter, not several months. The Major General also pointed out that all commands about refusal or just a warning on board are given by a speech informant in English.
