Duda, who is retiring, called on Ukraine to be patient
Polish President Andrzej Duda, who is resigning, called on Ukraine to be patient until power is transferred to his successor. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on June 29.
"Please be patient. The world looks different from behind the presidential desk, a little different than for an election candidate," Duda told reporters at a press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to the agency, Polish President-elect Karol Nawrocki announced his intentions to continue providing assistance to Ukraine. At the same time, he opposed Kiev's accession to Western alliances, including NATO.
Earlier, on June 28, Duda arrived in Kiev on an unannounced visit to meet with Zelensky. At that time, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga called Duda a great friend of the country and thanked him for his help and support.
