In Primorsky Krai, a boat caught fire in the Sea of Japan. This was confirmed on Sunday, June 29, by footage posted online by eyewitnesses.

According to Primorye residents, the ship is burning near the island of Shkota. One of them said that the fire occurred on the catamaran Merlion, which can carry up to 30 passengers.

The Merlion is on fire. I walked around, there are no people around, but the boat is finished," said an eyewitness.

According to Primorets, he failed to find people in need of help.

There is no official information about the incident yet.

On June 4, Nikolai Pirozhkov, head of the Vladivostok Maritime Rescue Coordination Center, reported that a fire had broken out on the Iceberg fishing schooner in the Sea of Japan 250 miles (402 km) south of Vladivostok. According to Pirozhkov, the crew of 17 Russians left the ship on two rafts. As a result, three people were injured.
