- In Primorye, a schoolboy transferred 800 thousand rubles to his grandmother to fraudsters

In the city of Ussuriysk, Primorsky Krai, a 10-year-old boy accidentally transferred his grandmother's savings in the amount of 800 thousand rubles to fraudsters, trying to buy game currency. This was announced on Sunday, June 29, by the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the region.
"A 66-year—old local resident filed a complaint about the theft of funds from a bank card," the agency said in a Telegram post.
According to the woman, her grandson was playing an online game when a scammer contacted him under the guise of a player. An unknown person offered the boy to purchase game currency.
According to the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the student then clicked on the links sent to his grandmother's phone, which the fraudster sent to him. As a result, the child unknowingly transferred money to an unknown account.
A criminal case has been opened on this fact, the department clarified.
On June 28, it was reported that cybercriminals began to deceive Russian minors more often. Scammers use various methods to cheat. Attackers can steal data during calls and messages on behalf of an educational organization, government authorities, or telecom operators.
