In Belgrade, more than a dozen participants of a mass protest action of the Serbian opposition in Slavia Square were detained, who attacked the police and participated in riots. This was announced on Sunday, June 29, by the Director of the Serbian Police, Dragan Vasilyevich.

According to him, quoted by the Tapjid news agency, six police officers were injured during the riots. Vasilyevich noted that the police units acted extremely professionally and used minimal force.

The police chief added that those student protesters who blocked college buildings and attacked police would be brought to justice.

Earlier in the day, Izvestia published footage from Belgrade after the start of demonstrations on the Vidovdan holiday, the day of remembrance of heroes and national identity of Serbia. The event was attended by both supporters of President Vucic and protesting representatives of the opposition. Silvana Petrovic, a participant in the protest action, said that the Serbian people "can no longer see or hear the one who stands at the head of power."

Later it became known that at least 36 thousand people attended the rally in Belgrade. The protesters are students. They came to the square with the slogans "Rock!", demonstrated the symbols of their faculties, the flags of Serbia, and also created noise with whistles.
