The speaker of the Serbian Parliament announced the protesters' calls for a civil war


Protesters in Belgrade used the rally to call for a civil war. This was announced on Saturday, June 28, by Speaker of the Serbian Parliament Ana Brnabic.
"The participants [of the rally] did not end their meeting on Vidovdan with the words "Long live Serbia!". They ended it with a terrible call for the murder of Serbia, a monstrous and open call for a civil war," she wrote on her Facebook page. Twitter).
The protesters demanded early presidential elections at the rally and the dismantling of the camp of supporters of Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic.
Earlier in the day, Izvestia published footage from Belgrade after the start of demonstrations on the Vidovdan holiday, the day of remembrance of heroes and national identity of Serbia. The event was attended by both supporters of President Vucic and protesting representatives of the opposition. Silvana Petrovic, a participant in the protest action, said that the Serbian people "can no longer see or hear the one who stands at the head of power."
Later it became known that at least 36 thousand people attended the rally in Belgrade. The protesters are students. They came to the square with the slogans "Rock!", demonstrated the symbols of their faculties, the flags of Serbia, and also created noise with whistles.
