At a mass protest rally of the Serbian opposition on Slavia Square in the center of Belgrade, supporters and opponents of the current president of the country, Alexander Vucic, are separated from each other only by a barrier. A journalist from Izvestia told about this on Saturday, June 28.

"So far, the protesters and supporters of the government have been separated by a fence, the police and the organizers," said journalist Sergei Petrov.

According to him, both sides "want to meet," but it would end in riots.

The protesters demanded early presidential elections and the dismantling of the camp of Vucic's supporters.

Earlier in the day, Izvestia published footage from Belgrade after the start of demonstrations on the Vidovdan holiday, the day of remembrance of heroes and national identity of Serbia. The event was attended by both supporters of President Vucic and protesting representatives of the opposition. Silvana Petrovic, a participant in the protest action, said that the Serbian people "can no longer see or hear the one who stands at the head of power."

Later it became known that at least 36 thousand people attended the rally in Belgrade. The protesters are students. They came to the square with the slogans "Rock!", demonstrated the symbols of their faculties, the flags of Serbia, and also created noise with whistles.
