Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic addressed the protesters in Belgrade and called for peace. This was reported by the newspaper Vechernye Novosti on Saturday, June 28.

According to the newspaper, Vucic made a peaceful appeal and said that the Serbian state is "strong" and the authorities will fulfill their duties.

Earlier in the day, Izvestia published footage from Belgrade after the start of demonstrations on the Vidovdan holiday, the day of remembrance of heroes and national identity of Serbia. The event was attended by both supporters of President Vucic and protesting representatives of the opposition. Silvana Petrovic, a participant in the protest action, said that the Serbian people "can no longer see or hear the one who stands at the head of power."

Later it became known that at least 36 thousand people attended the rally in Belgrade. The protesters are students. They came to the square with the slogans "Rock!", demonstrated the symbols of their faculties, the flags of Serbia, and also created noise with whistles.
