The first day of July in Moscow may be among the coldest in recent decades. This was announced on June 28 by Mikhail Leus, a leading specialist at the Phobos Weather Center.

According to him, June ends in the capital within the limits of the climatic norm — the temperature is unchanged, and precipitation has fallen about 74% of the norm. However, in the last days of the month, the rains will intensify due to the cyclone, which will begin to affect the weather by June 30, bringing clouds, heavy precipitation and wind. The air temperature at the beginning of the week will not exceed +15... +17 °C.

"On the first day of July, slowly moving east, the cyclone will keep the weather cold, windy and rainy in the capital, and this day will become one of the coldest days of July," Leus said in his Telegram channel.

According to him, the temperature record for the coldest July 1 so far belongs to 2006, when the thermometer showed only +14.9 °C. +16 to +18 °C is forecast for this year.

The forecaster added that in general, the first five days of July will not please Muscovites with summer warmth — it will become really warm only by Thursday, when the air warms up to +23...+25 °C, but short-term rains will remain almost daily.

On the same day, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation warned that a thunderstorm with strong wind gusts is expected in Moscow from June 29 to July 1. It was noted that during this period it is better to avoid billboards and unstable structures, as well as park only in safe places.
